Frey Norris Gallery and I have mutually and amicably decided to part ways, leaving
me free to pursue another gallery (most likely New York). I was one of the first artists
represented there, and it's been great to show my work in the area where I grew up.
I want to thank FNG for being such a great gallery to work with and I wish them all
the best.
Currently I have two or three paintings in progress at any given time. I've begun to
frame my work in a more involved way using more traditional approaches, sometimes harkening back to the devotional frames of the 15th-17th centuries. Some frames incorporate laser-engraved type, creating a conceptual connection between frame and art.
Please be patient while I finish the
galleries in "The Work." I still need
to add titles to many of the images.
I have scheduled no shows for this
year as we prepare to welcome
another child (a boy) into the world
this October.
My installation at the BYU Museum
of Art has been postponed due to
scheduling conflicts with some of the
artists involved.
We're still planning on
doing it in the near future- which for artists means within a five-year period.
One of my paintings has been used in a newly
published book by the eminent professor James
Green of the University of Washington entitled
"Beyond the Good Death," which is an in-depth
study of dying amongst numerous cultures. A
great book and a nice cover (!).
